Workshops
MEC offers workshops to students in order to help prepare for future education.
Common Application Workshop (Rising Seniors only)
In August of each year, Main Education Consulting offers a two-part Common Application workshop. During this workshop, rising seniors will:
- Learn more about the colleges that use the Common Application
- Understand the essay topic
- Draft their essay
- Complete the Common Application
- Create a list of personal recommenders
- Prepare information that will be required by their school counselor and recommenders
By the time senior year begins, participating students can focus on their classes, extra-curricular activities, and any college-specific supplemental requirements knowing that the major part of the Common Application is complete.
Parents will feel confident that their student has completed that major component for all colleges that require the Common Application.
Remember that each student who attends the Common Application Workshop will receive individualized assistance with his or her own essay to ensure that student’s personal story is crafted in a compelling and unique voice.
